About Romania

Bucharest is a city where the old mixes with the new in a unique way. It has some beautiful areas, such as the Old Town which is the main hangout spot for foreigners and tourists. The Old Town is rich in architecture, many of the area's buildings having been founded in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Here you can find anything you might be looking for, from a posh restaurant and up to the popular but hidden Kitsch Museum. The Bucharest nightlife is quite vibrant, with many places being opened 24/7.

Another area I personally enjoy viewing is the North. That is the city's residential district, and several gorgeous parks are located here. King Michael I Park is a great spot for families but also young people looking to relax. The park includes the well known Village Museum. Last year, I spent a few hours here enjoying the squirrels and the traditional sweets offered by vendors along the way.

Victory Avenue is another cool place to go for a stroll. The street is packed with tourists, cozy cafes, and designer shops, but still retains its authentic charm. You can go straight from your morning coffee to checking out the latest runway designs at Gucci. There are quite a few bookstores strategically placed along the way, which only reinforces the hipster vibe of this area.

Bucharest is said to have a different feeling compared to the rest of the country. Many people know that this is the country of vampires and where Vlad Tepes, the real Dracula, lived. The Bran castle is nestled in the Carpathian mountains and gives off a beautiful, somewhat chilling vibe. Seaside resorts like Mamaia are always a hit during summer for tourists and locals alike, while the Danube Delta could be an amazing place to visit if you are interested in the country's biosphere reserve.

Romania is a beautiful country to visit, and feels quite safer than other countries in Europe. Hopefully this inspires you to learn more about what it has to offer.
